Wills and trusts
The building block of your estate plan is a properly constructed will. Even if you wish for your entire estate to pass directly to your children in equal parts, there are many details which must be clearly established. Our attorneys help you draft a will that ensures your intentions are clear and allows your assets to be distributed successfully.
Learn how Kreis Enderle can help you preserve your assets and maximize your beneficiaries' inheritance through the use of trusts.
Advance directives
The first step in estate planning is to make certain you have a way to communicate your intentions to your family in the event you become incapacitated.
Durable power of attorney for healthcare/patient advocate designate. You can designate another person to be your representative and make your medical decisions for you.
General durable power of attorney. If you become incapacitated, the probate court may take over direction of your financial affairs. To prevent this possibility, you can give general durable power of attorney to a trusted person. This representative will be able to handle financial matters on your behalf if you are no longer able to make such decisions.
There are many important issues that you can and should resolve with the careful preparation of advance directives. At Kreis Enderle, our attorney helps you articulate your wishes and put them into action.
Guardianship and conservatorship
When your loved one has lost the capacity to make medical or financial decisions, our attorneys initiate guardianship and conservatorship proceedings in the Michigan probate courts.
- Guardianship allows you to make decisions about medical care and living arrangements for an incapacitated person.
- Conservatorship allows you to manage the assets of an incapacitated person.
Our attorneys continue to represent you if the proceedings are contested.
