“Honesty is the best policy. Realism is the best strategy.”
When asked what attributes he brings to his client relationships at Kreis Enderle, Jim Lance answers succinctly, “Honesty and realism”. While the practice of law can be complex at times, Jim knows his role is to simplify those complexities so that clients know the truth of their situation and what the most realistically beneficial outcome is likely to be. This is especially true in the areas of Jim’s expertise: real estate law, civil litigation, appellate law, business law, and elder law. He has authored appellate briefs for Michigan Supreme Court Cases and, in 2008, was awarded the Distinguished Brief Award by Thomas M. Cooley.
In 2013, Jim was a featured presenter at the Summer Conference for the Michigan Community Action Agency Association on the topic of avoiding legal pitfalls for non profit directors. He is also active in various community organizations in the Battle Creek area.
Jim also received the 2016 Heroes Award given by the Calhoun County Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition. He has particular expertise in elder law, estate planning, and probate matters.
