Kossen Appointed To Advisory Council Of Women’s Leadership Institute

Kay Kossen has joined other female leaders when she was appointed to Olivet College Women’s Leadership Institute’s advisory council.  Founded by Traci Corey, spouse of Steven M. Corey, Ph.D, President of Olivet College, the Women’s Leadership Institute seeks to empower young women entering the workforce.  The WLI is committed to having a positive impact on students, especially female students, wanting to grow their leadership skills.

The Women’s Leadership Institute is responsible for events such as the inaugural Cultivating Women Leaders, a day-long interactive, leadership workshop for high school students, Olivet students, faculty and staff, as well as alumnae. With its overwhelming success, the Cultivating Women Leaders event will return in 2018.  Collaborating with ATHENA International, this event will follow sessions teaching young women on the eight core principals of leadership with the final session taking place within the event on March 2, 2018. The Cultivating Women Leaders 2018 attendees will have the chance to go from a mentee to a “Ment-Her”, with the idea that these ment-hers will implement and facilitate a high school leadership camp in June 2018, and a middle schoolers’ camp in 2019.

If you or someone you know is interested in attending an Olivet College Women’s Leadership Institute event, or learning more about the organization, please contact Kay Kossen kkossen@kreisenderle.com.
