While earning her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law, she helped protect the rights of criminal defendants as a law student extern in the State Appellate Defender Office and as a law clerk with a Lansing criminal defense firm.

Alex received her undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Michigan. There, she participated in several campus and community activities, including tutoring fellow students at the Sweetland Center for Writing, volunteering as a teaching assistant for second-graders at a Detroit elementary school, and creating and delivering a money management course for inmates at a correctional facility.

A Kalamazoo native, Alex is delighted to practice law in Grand Rapids and experience all that the area offers.
