Jacob Eccleston joined the Portage office as an associate focused on real estate, and municipal, planning, and zoning law. Regardless of a matter’s complexity or difficulty, he is dedicated to service and enjoys finding innovative solutions to realize his clients’ goals. Jacob considers communication the most critical aspect of client service and prides himself on his responsiveness and reliability.

Jacob advises clients on a broad range of real estate and municipal practice topics and handles everything from contract review and drafting to employment-related matters and ordinance review and drafting. He also counsels his clients on Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act concerns and questions.

Jacob received his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. He and his family live in Kalamazoo County and are avid travelers enjoying skiing, hiking, and canoeing in their free time.
