Mark Kreter’s practice focuses on civil litigation, primarily insurance defense and business law. Over nearly 40 years, Mark has closed more than $200 million in business transactions and served as a formidable trial lawyer in 20+ successful jury and bench trials. Throughout his career, he has handled numerous cases that have impacted not only his clients but also Michigan’s legal landscape.

When clients face particularly stressful circumstances, Mark believes it is essential to be nearby to offer a steadying and positive influence. His many years of diverse and hands-on trial experience have ensured there are few legal situations he has not encountered. As a result, he can focus on reasonable, realistic, and client-centered solutions to every challenge before his client.

A seasoned veteran of alternative dispute resolution, Mark believes every lawsuit can be voluntarily settled. If one of his cases proceeds to trial, it is likely because the other party failed to properly evaluate its case and the risks inherent in trial. Mark’s highly successful trial record speaks to his courtroom presence and command and skill in presenting his client’s story.

His plaintiff and defendant litigation skill and business transactions experience, along with his reputation for impartiality and creative solutions, make Mark the mediator of choice for parties seeking to resolve even the most acrimonious conflicts. Other attorneys rely on Mark’s substantive and procedural knowledge, empathy and listening skills, and ability to streamline the law and facts of the case to facilitate meaningful outcomes outside the courts.

When Mark is not working, he enjoys watching sports and spending time with his family and wife (Cathy) of 35 years. An avid Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers fan, Mark has spent some of the best times in his personal and professional life at games with family, friends, and clients.
